I am going to continue giving you good exercises to use in order to better your handling. It is good to get the basics down and get a good feel with the ball. I will probably talk about this in the next couple posts as well. I call this soccer technique the roll over. Have the ball in front of you and place the inner part of the bottom of your foot on the top side of the ball. Place your foot on the side of the ball according to what foot your using. Right foot, right side. Left foot, left side. Than step to the side. While your stepping to the side roll your foot over the ball, making it roll in that direction. So if your using your right foot then step left while rolling your foot to the right over the ball. Do this over and over. Its good to have a destination, like a cone or a tree. Go to that destination using your right foot, and then go back using your left foot. Like every exercise, speed up according to your own pace. This will sharpen your handling and prepare you for advanced basic moves in the future. Thank you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8AqgMCu0c4 . This video shows a little more advanced moves than what i explained and if you want to practice them you can. Have fun!

Handling 2
Hello again! Today i am going to talk further about handling the ball. As we established before, handling means how well you control the ball with your feet. Good handling leads to good control. I am going to give you another good exercise to use. I like to call it the toe touch. Place the ball in front of you and jog in place. While you are jogging in place touch the top of the ball with the bottom of your toes. Try to keep the ball in place. This sharpens your handling and will help you alot with your foot speed and with other moves that we will discuss in the future. When you get the feel down speed up your movement as much as you can. Go at your own pace! Here is a video to show you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dleBzXzQ604 . Thanks again!

Handling
OK, so the first thing you have to realize is that being good at soccer takes alot of practice. Whether you play field soccer or indoor soccer. You can't just expect yourself to be the best in a day, week, month, or even a year. Practice makes perfect really is the case in this situation. So keep at it and don't give up. In time you could become a Pro, but don't forget to just have fun! So the first tip you need to understand and practice is handling the ball. Handling means how well you control the ball with your feet. A good exercise for this is to place the ball at your feet and kick it back and forth with the inside of each foot. Do this over and over until it feels comfortable. When you get this motion down you can start speeding it up, and then start moving. You can go slowly at first. Remember to always go at your own pace. Then you can start jogging a little faster. Some people like to put cones down and weave through them, which is a very good technique. Also remember to try and not kick the ball with your toes in this exercise. Instead kick the ball with the inside of your arch. If you start out getting that down then it will help your passing in the future. Here is a video to help you see what i mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnEYZ0OmovE . Thanks!
